What is an ERLC Church Contact Person and what do they do?
The Capital Baptist Association's Ethics and Religious Liberty Committee determined at the outset of the formation of their committee that one of the best ways to accomplish their mission goal was to establish a liaison with each of the approximately 150 churches in the Capital Baptist Association. Each pastor or designated staff member would identify a church member who has a heart and an interest in our mission to "increase awareness on the part of the church family of the social and ethical issues of the day and to develop strategies as to the best way to effect positive change". The contact person works with the pastor or church staff member to decide the best way to inform the church members on given issues or bills before Congress that need a positive input from individual church members.
By visiting the ERLC link on this website, you can receive action alerts from the National ERLC, Capital Baptist Association's ERLC, the American Family Association, etc. In any given week, these organizations provide an Action Alert to respond to. The ERLC Contact Person consults with their pastor or staff member and decides on the best way to inform church members of the needed action.
Below are the ERLC Contacts and their churches. If your church is not on this list and you have a heart for what we are doing and you have access to the internet, we would encourage you to ask your pastor if you could be your church's ERLC Contact Person. Then contact Capital Baptist Association at 405-942-0244 and give them your name, phone number, email address, and your church's name and we will put you on our roll.
Following are the names of the ERLC contacts in Capital Baptist Association's churches. If your name is listed and you are no longer a contact point, please contact Cindy at 942-0244. If would like to be a representative from your church, please contact your pastor and let him know you would like to serve in this capacity.
