Exploration of New Testament writings within the context of the historical development of the church in the first century.  Attention to the types of literature appearing in the New Testament, the order and manner of composition of these writings, and the questions of authorship and purpose.  Discussion of central figures, major issues, and the dominant theological themes, and study of the development of these writings into a body of canonical literature. Scholarship and Student Incentive Programs 
For Returning Students only: Reduce your tuition cost by enlisting new students! For each new student you enlist, you will receive 1/3 off your tuition fee.  Enlist three new students and you'll get one course FREE! (excluding cost of books and enrollment fee) 
 
For New and Returning Students:  OBU has ended its ministerial scholarship program - but Capital Baptist Association will continue the program for the first twenty (20) students who enroll: Capital Baptist Association offers $10.00 per credit hour for a student who is ordained, licensed, or has verification from his or her church that the student is preparing for a vocational or bi-vocational Christian ministry in a Southern Baptist church.  Students must maintain a 2.0 GPA in order to be eligible for this scholarship. 
 
TODD SHELDON SCHOLARSHIPS
The Todd Sheldon Scholarships are named and funded to honor the memory of Todd Sheldon, the late son of Dr. Eli Sheldon, long-time director of Continuing Education for Capital Baptist Association.  These are one-time scholarships available to new, incoming MTI students, and are limited in number and awarded to the first students to complete the enrollment process.
 
Eligibility requirements:
   * Be a new, incoming MTI student at the CBA facility,
   * Maintain an active church membership with a CBA church,
   * Complete the semester with a 2.0 grade-point average (4.0 scale).
 
A student meeting all of the eligibility requirements will receive a one-hundred dollar ($100) rebate upon completion of the semester.
